Executive Summary
WaVault operates as a local-only browser extension with zero-knowledge architecture, ensuring we have no access to your communications or contacts. You bear full responsibility for data security, legal compliance (including third-party platform terms), and any risks from future software changes.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing the WaVault browser extension ("The Extension") or accessing our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Extension. This is a legally binding agreement between you and WaVault. Your continued use of the Extension after any updates or changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of such changes. If you do not agree, please do not use the Extension.
2. Description of Service
WaVault is a browser extension that runs locally to organize text data present in your browser tab. The Extension enhances WhatsApp Web functionality but does not modify, intercept, or transmit data beyond your local device.
A technical architecture where we (the vendor) possess no cryptographic ability to decrypt or view your data. Processing happens exclusively in your device's RAM.
WaVault provides persistent local tracking (such as identifying 'ghost members' or retained histories) exclusively within your encrypted local environment. We do not sync this to the cloud. This tracking is strictly user-controlled and deletable at any time.
3. Third-Party Platform Dependence
WaVault is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed, or sponsored by WhatsApp Inc. or Meta Platforms, Inc.
Using third-party extensions carries inherent risks. WaVault disclaims all liability for any restrictions, bans, shadowbans, or terminations of your WhatsApp account.
You acknowledge that WhatsApp's terms prohibit unauthorized automation, and use of WaVault may violate those terms if not utilized for personal, non-abusive purposes. Code updates by WhatsApp™ may disrupt the Extension. You deploy and utilize this software at your sole, absolute risk.
4. Data Responsibility and Compliance
- No Cloud BackupsIf you uninstall Chrome, your data is gone. You are solely responsible for exporting CSVs regularly to maintain backups.
- Local EncryptionYour data is AES-256 encrypted on disk. We possess no decryption keys and cannot recover lost or compromised keys.
- Law of the Land ComplianceYou are strictly bound to comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws prevailing in the jurisdiction where you operate ("the Law of the Land") regarding any individuals whose data you export, track, or process.
- Strict Liability for MisuseWaVault is strictly a neutral data organization utility. We expressly prohibit the use of exported data for any illegal, harassing, or unsolicited communications. You bear 100% of the legal, regulatory, and commercial liability for how you utilize contacts acquired via WaVault. You must independently ensure your actions (e.g., outreach, marketing) do not violate the anti-spam, privacy, or consumer protection laws of your applicable jurisdiction. Documented misuse will result in immediate, permanent license revocation without refund.
Note: WaVault collects no personal communications data from users. Any telemetry data (if implemented) is anonymized.
5. Paid Services & Licensing

6. Intellectual Property & User License
All rights, title, and interest in the Extension—including the compiled WASM core, UI design system, and brand assets—are the exclusive property of WaVault. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Extension for your personal or internal business purposes, strictly subject to these Terms.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless WaVault (and its officers, directors, employees, and agents) against all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising strictly from your misuse of the Extension, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights or applicable data privacy laws.
9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WAVAULT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND.
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DATA LOSS, BANNING OF WHATSAPP ACCOUNTS, OR ANY INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS ARISING FROM THE USE OF THIS TOOL.
OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
Before filing any formal legal claim, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting support@houseof2.studio. We will respond within 30 days.
If unresolved informally, disputes shall be subject to binding arbitration under the Indian Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The seat and venue of arbitration shall be Bengaluru, India.
11. Amendments to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time to reflect changes in our services or legal obligations. We will notify you via email or in-app notice at least 30 days in advance for any material changes. Your continued use of the Extension following the effective date of such changes constitutes your acceptance.
12. User Accounts and Security
You must maintain the strict confidentiality and security of your license key. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your license key or any other breach of security. We are not liable for any losses or damages arising from compromised accounts or shared keys.
13. Termination and Suspension
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Extension immediately, without prior notice, for violations of these Terms, non-payment of subscription fees, or at our sole discretion if we determine your use poses a legal or security risk. Upon termination, the licenses granted herein shall terminate, and you must cease all use of the Extension.
14. Data Privacy and Processing
While WaVault processes data locally, if we collect any usage metrics, they are strictly anonymized. For comprehensive details on our data handling practices, please refer to our Privacy Policy. By using the Extension, you consent to act as the primary data controller for the information you extract under applicable laws.
14.1 License Binding & Minimal Data Collection: To fulfill the contract (providing a working software license) and to prevent fraud, WaVault automatically reads the active WhatsApp phone number connected to the browser session. This number, alongside the email address used for purchase and the transaction ID, is securely logged to WaVault's internal licensing database (currently hosted via Supabase) to cryptographically bind the license to the specific user. This is strictly an administrative licensing mechanism. This data is logically isolated from the extension's core functionality and is explicitly not used for marketing, outreach, or shared with external data brokers.
WaVault maintains an internal Supabase server solely for administrative purposes (verifying your payment, email address, transaction ID, and the WhatsApp number your license is bound to). This server never receives, processes, or stores the contacts you extract using the extension. Your extracted data remains 100% local to your machine.
15. Export Controls
You agree to comply with all applicable global export controls and economic sanctions laws, including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and Indian export regulations. The Extension may not be downloaded, exported, or utilized in legally sanctioned countries or by prohibited entities.
16. Force Majeure
Neither party shall be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of God, war, labor disputes, changes in laws or regulations, or interruptions in third-party services (such as WhatsApp API changes or outages).
17. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction or arbitrator to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and WaVault, superseding any prior or contemporaneous understandings, whether written or oral.
